Who we are and what we do?
We, at The Homeopathic Health Centre, are a group of classically trained professional homeopaths, who, in a caring, supportive manner apply the principles of homeopathy
to assist our clients to return to optimum health. Homeopathic principles have been
developed for more than 200 years since the founder of modern homeopathy, Samuel Hahnemann, demonstrated the efficacy of the central tenet of homeopathy “like cures like”.
“Like cures like” means that a substance capable of inducing symptoms in a healthy
person, in minute quantities, supports the cure of illness that produces those same
symptoms. Thus, our approach is to uncover the full range of a person's symptoms in order
to provide the best remedy to support return to good health. Symptoms include mental,
emotional and behavioural characteristics as well as the orthodox physiological symptoms.
What might you expect to occur in your homeopathic consultation?
You will be asked a range of questions about your illness or complaint(s) to allow you to
fully tell us about them. From there we will explore further issues to help us understand you
and your illness in its totality. This then provides us with the information we need to select
the remedy that is most closely related to your symptom profile. You can expect this
consultation to last approximately one to one and a half hours.
What happens after the initial consultation?
As a group practice, we discuss your situation to assist in finding the best possible remedy
for you. We find that this collaboration leads us to excellent results. We typically provide
you with the remedy and treatment plan a couple of days after your consultation, but in
cases of acute ailments, we provide a remedy immediately.
What can you expect after taking your homeopathic remedy?
Generally you can expect a gentle, gradual return to optimum health, but in some cases, significant improvement occurs quite quickly. On other occasions, an intensification of
existing symptoms can occur, or previously experienced symptoms can return briefly.
These are not side effects, but what is known as a homeopathic aggravation. It is a good
sign indicating that you are responding well to the remedy, with expectation of improvement
soon to follow.
What happens next? Follow up consultation(s).
You will be asked to return for a follow up to allow us to monitor your progress. These consultations are usually about a half an hour long and allow us to assess need for further
use of a remedy. It is important to recognise that while complete return to good health can
occur, if a disease process has been developing over a long period of time, it can take a
while for it to clear. The follow up consultation(s) assist in this process.
